Stratis Afaloniatis
Upon hearing that we needed tree trunks to fabricate masts for the perama caïque that we were restoring, the handsome woodcutter Stratis Afaloniatis immediately showed great interest and enthusiasm. With his help we found the right trees for our project.
Stratis Afaloniatis who is from the village Papados of Lesvos island, is a warm, joyful character, full of zest for life. He was with us continuously during all the days that we spent in Lesvos. Mastro Pachos and I had a great time with him, and we particularly honored Lesvos’ renowned ouzo tavernas.
