Rolando
Rolando has been “Faneromeni’s” crewman since the Spring of 2009. He is a full time employee taking care of the caïque and he follows me in all her cruises. He is 28 years old and comes from the Philippines. All our communications are in English.
Rolando had never worked before on a boat and when I hired him he had technical experience. Despite the fact that I was hesitant to hire him, due to his inexperience, I perceived that he has a good character, so I decided to give him a chance. Slowly he became acclimated to the boat and started learning the requisite tasks. During our first cruise together in June of 2009 he was, at the beginning, somewhat apprehensive but he quickly overcame his apprehensions and adjusted to the onboard life. Also, he gets along very well with the canine crew which is very significant for the overall harmonious life onboard.
By now he has gained enough experience to fulfill most of the onboard needs. His presence is useful, pleasant, discrete.
